The viper (string snake) is a venomous snake belonging to the subfamily Crotalinae. This species was first scientifically described by Karl Patterson Schmidt in 1925.

It is found in India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Vietnam. This species usually lives in mountain forests at altitudes up to 2,845 m.

Green snakes are nocturnal predators and live both in trees and on the ground. They sometimes rest or hunt for food near mountain streams. Their food is small mammals, birds and lizards.

In the following clip, a green snake attacks a lizard in a very surprising way. While the green snake was camouflaged and waiting for its prey, the lizard suddenly appeared.

When the prey approaches, the viper quickly launches a surprise attack, with a lightning-fast bite that doesn’t give the unfortunate lizard a chance to survive.

Once controlled, the viper lizard will use its body to wrap around and strangle its prey to death. After making sure the prey was dead, the green snake calmly opened its mouth and swallowed the prey in an extremely horrifying manner.
